How To Throw Your Sister a Bachelorette Party

How to throw your sister a Bachelorette Party

You’re sisters, you’re best friends, and you’re partners in crime. And now she’s decided to go off and get married, and wants YOU to plan the bachelorette party. Yikes! Take a look at some common concerns of planning your sister’s (or future sister-in-law’s) bachelorette party, and find out how to make sure her night is the best!

You don’t know her friends

You love each other, but you have different social circles. How are you supposed to figure out who’s supposed to be at the party?

Easy. Talk to your sister. Let her know you want to invite everyone she wants at the party, and ask her to provide you a list with email addresses, addresses, and/or phone numbers depending on how you’d like to get a hold of the girls. If your sister is busy with wedding plans (or the party is a surprise), find out who her best friend is, and see if you can team up on throwing the party.

You’ve never been to a bachelorette party before

Maybe your sister’s a bit older than you, and you haven’t had the chance to attend friends’ bachelorette parties yet. If this is the case: Take a deep breath and relax. Bachelorette parties don’t have to be like what you’ve seen on TV and in movies. Strippers and illegal activities aren’t the norm, and if you wake up in a hotel suite with a live tiger, slowly back away and GET OUT OF THERE!

Bachelorette parties are a chance to spend a night with your friends and do things you might not get to do with your future partner. Have some drinks, some girly conversation, great bachelorette party supplies, and don’t be afraid to get a bit goofy. If the bachelorette likes being the center of attention, this party is also a great chance to go out and feel like a superstar.  Here is a checklist to help you plan the perfect bachelorette party.

There’s NO WAY you want to have penis cake or buy her lingerie

You’re close with your sister or future sister-in-law, but not that close. Don’t fret! A bachelorette party doesn’t have to include anything that will make family members uncomfortable. However, there may be some friends that will want to bring some inappropriate gifts or bring up topics that aren’t the most fun for family members. If this is the case and you really can’t handle it, feel free to create a “Sister-Free Zone” at some point. While you’re setting up for the next event, the ladies can have a bit of time to give their more risque gifts.

Looking for a gift that’s more family-friendly? How about one of these items that she can use before and after the wedding?

Some fun options for a bachelorette party she’ll love:

Spa Day

Focus on relaxing the bride and her friends before the big day with a luxurious trip to the spa. Add in some mimosas, nice chocolates, and good conversation for a fantastic party! Turn it into an all-day-event by changing after the spa and going out to a nice dinner or club in the evening.

Cooking Party

Have a chef or a talented friend teach everyone how to cook some fun dishes and then enjoy your creations with a couple bottles of wine. This is a nice inexpensive but fun way to celebrate with each other and learn something in the process!

    Go Bowling

Many bowling alleys have “Rock and Bowl” nights where it’s perfectly acceptable to dress up in fun, bright clothes, throw on some wigs, and bowl the night away. This has become an extremely popular option for bachelorette parties!
